Light Footsteps is directed by Christine Cassella with the help of her partner, Michael.  Michael runs the nonprofit half of our farm programs through Resilient Health.






Christine M. Cassella has always felt a strong connection with nature having spent her youth wandering through the forest.  She believes that people would be healthier and happier if they would slow down and remember their inherent connection to the natural world.  She has a B.A. in psychology from the College of Wooster (2007) and a M.S. in Biology from Case Western Reserve University (2012).  Christine earned her Permaculture Design Certificate from Midwest Permaculture, has taken numerous herbalism courses through the Wise Woman University, Learning Herbs, and is working on the Art and Science of Herbalism Course with Rosemary Gladstar.  In general, she has been harvesting and studying herbs for over 10 years. Christine is also a Certified Interpretive Guide with a focus on environmental education and also trained with the Sacred Pregnancy movement.  She is a member of the American Herbalist Guild, Herbalists Without Borders, and United Plant Savers. Michael S. Bennett is an Adult / Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Reiki Master, and Permaculturist who believes that all beings have a right to a healthy, fulfilling, and sustainable lifestyle.  His interest in healing dates back to the late 1990s when he began exploring the healing arts, such as Reiki, yoga, meditation, massage, medical intuition, and hypnotherapy, before and during his undergraduate studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.  As an Asian and Pacific Studies minor, his undergraduate capstone project on Healing in Asian Traditions focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine while also exploring Ayurveda and Tibetan Buddhist Medicine and further fueled his passion for the healing arts.  Continue reading here.
